Overview

Book a 12-day private Royal Rajasthan desert safari tour. Experience Thar Desert camel rides, luxury tent camps, Mehrangarh Fort, Udaipur palaces, & Jaipur.

Rajasthan’s character changes as you travel. Around Jaipur it is courtly and colourful, in the Shekhawati and Bikaner regions it turns quiet and arid, and around Jaisalmer it becomes open desert. This twelve-day circuit follows that change on a loop that begins and ends in Jaipur.

The centrepiece is the desert. After the fort and havelis of Jaisalmer you ride a camel across the Sam Sand Dunes at sunset and spend a night in a desert camp, with folk music and dinner under the stars. The journey then moves on to Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh and Pushkar before returning to Jaipur.

It suits travellers who want the heart of Rajasthan and a real taste of the Thar Desert, and who are comfortable with a long road itinerary.

Trip highlights

  • A night in a desert campAfter a camel ride at Sam Sand Dunes, you spend the evening with folk music, dance and dinner in the desert.
